text-align: center;">
I have decided that I am officially going on hiatus, despite the fact that that's what I've been doing for the past many many months. However, this time I am going on hiatus to sort of rejuvenate my brain and try and come up with newer ideas for new postings. It seems that my emo crap has not been bringing in much traffic to my blog and I want to change that, so I'll spend my time in the shadows trying to get a hang of this blogging thing and come back with a fire.

However, just because I will be on hiatus doesn't mean that I am going to be totally out of touch with the blogging scene. I have gotten a sort of 'gig' as an editor on my friend @cdooh's blog "Private Thoughts of A Young Kenyan" with this being the first post since my "appointment" as editor.

I do hope that I will learn a thing or two with my editorial gig (don't know if that was used correctly but I don't care) because, I will be back and this time, I am going to leave a larger foot print than before. And one final thing, I will be back in the second quarter of 2012. This isn't over yet
<div allegiance to Nokia started way back when the 3310 was a hot asset. It wasn’t my first phone but it was the first that I liked simply because it had games. Over the years, I have owned a number of Nokia phones and I have been going up the technological ladder with them. I always found Nokia to be a very, for lack of a better tech word, stable. My favourite feature was the T9. It was easy to use and adding new words was cool. I liked to think that I was teaching the phone a new language.

Then came the age of the iOS and Androids. At first I paid no mind to all these “distractions”. My loyalty to Nokia was unmoved. The allure of apps wasn’t enough to change my mind. I never wanted to leave the safe embrace of Nokia because it was what I knew and was used to. I had gotten too accustomed to its menus that no matter what, I was never going to trade my ‘connection with people’ for anything else. I had used other phones and I never liked their menus nor their T9. I often found them wanting in one area or another.

So when did I decide to start planning jumping ship from Nokia? The first time I actually used a decent Android Phone. Not the Huawei Ideos, but a decent piece of hardware and I was blown away. All the apps available for this OS are overwhelming and there are quite a number that I find relevant that I can’t get on a Nokia phone. Their menus are quite good too, but the main reason is all the support they get from apps. I often say hardware is nothing without software, and that is what is happening with Nokia. They make some pretty decent phones but their OS is crap and doesn’t have support. Back to the apps, even though there are some that you have to pay for, the free ones are still awesome none the less. It also astonished me that a simple a cheap Android phone could do so much more than an expensive Nokia phone if not at par with it, so what’s the extra shilling for. It beats the purpose.

I still do like Nokia and I think that they make good phones, but until they come up with an OS that gets support, my next phone is definitely going to be an Android or even an iPhone : )

Heartache

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> A game that I adore and has consumed me for many an hour. I have also done a number of posts about it. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that I am talking about Heavenly Sword (though GoW 3 could have been a good guess).

I found and I still find this game to be extremely intriguing and amazing to play. Probably because of the stunning graphics, an involving story and the spectacular game play. But today, I’m not discussing any of that. My area of interest is one of the monologues that I like in this game. The monologue in question isn’t particularly in the game; it is in an extra animated shot that acts as a prologue of sorts to the games story. It makes us understand why there is this war going on, and a little bit of light is shed on some of the characters. Of course this monologue isn’t done just without the accompanying score, but it still does stand out on its own.

The legend of the sword

One death gives reason for the second. The second lends glory to a third. And I curse The Raven Lord who lit the torch for terror in these lands! Some say he was mortal, a warlord thirsting for power; and the bloodlust and destruction he unleashed was real enough. But I say he rose from Hell. The land you’re standing on was burning with hatred, humanity itself disappearing like smoke. Our salvation? Our hope? It came from the heavens! A soldier; furious and magnificent to behold - mighty enough to challenge even The Raven Lord. A Heavenly Warrior to lead mankind in one deadly battle. And shining through the horror… such a weapon... When the battle ended and our world was saved… the Heavenly Warrior had vanished! Only his weapon remained... And so was born the legend of our Heavenly Sword! And thousands would die for it…

Monologues I Love 01

So this is the very first of a new series that I want to introduce to my blog because it's something that has really caught my interest. These are monologues that you hear from very many places such as movies, tv series, video games or even some that you read in books. This is more often than not a very good story telling technique sometimes evoking so very powerful emotions to the auduence or at least to myself.

This very first monologue is on very classic one that I have loved ever since I was a kid but have found new appreciation for it now that I am grown up or older. It is the opening dialogue from Beauty and the Beast, one of the best animations that I have ever seen. I always remember that I always liked the opening sequence because of the monologue, the accompanying music and the stained glass animation, it was just unique and it is one of the best opening that I have seen. It serves as an introduction to the tale in a summarised but detailed manner. But my favourite part was always the last sentence. So without much further ado, this is my very first monolgue entry

Beauty and the Beast Prologue
Once upon a time in a far away land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind.

But then, one winter's night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggered appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away! But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty was found within, and when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress.

The prince tried to apologise ,but it was too late, for she had seen there was no love in his heart and as punishment she transformed him into a hedious beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the beast concealed himself inside his castle, with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.

The rose she had offered, was truly an enchanted rose which would bloom until his 21st year. If he could learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, then, the spell would be broken! If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time! As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a beast.
David Ogden Stiers (Narrator)

Totally Random Post

So I made a totally random post the other day only to discover that the only thing that was updated was the title, nkt. The way that post was all sorts of randomness, guess I'll just have to make another post. So I've been through 5 weeks of my internal attachment in university and it's been fun and hell at the same time.

We are required to make bookshelves which really have a rather peculiar design and the worst part is that after all that work, they will be going to the department's office, we won't get to sell them, sad. Anyway, the work is stretched out across 3 workshops, plumbing, welding and carpentry. As of now I've been through the the first two. The plumbing workshop was easy breezy coz all we had to do was fold pipes which was actually done by a machine. The bulk of the work is in the welding shop. This is where I encounted various injuries such as burning my hands on hot metals and getting scotched by flying sparks, not fun. But boy am I glad that part is over. We've now finished the outer frames so next we'll be making the shelves and drawers that are to go into the drawers and after that I will have a short break before my school life begins.

Lost

I have always had my own rendition of poetry and it has always been sort of a tale told in very short lines and stanzas. It doesn't really follow any pattern and I just write what I feel. To the more die hard poetry followers, my form of expression in the name of poetry would be called an abomination, but what the heck, it's a free world after all and I don't have to please anybody. This is one of my tales I wrote a while back. I have this bad habit of not reviewing my "tales" because they are raw expressions of what I feel at a particular time only that I manipulate it into being someone else's situation and I add a little exaggeration to spice things up. This one I wrote when I was in a rather dull mood and felt like writing something sad to reflect my mood. It may sound like something you've heard before but I ain't no Shakespear (at least not yet)

An empty street is all that greets her wandering eyes,

In this new and unfamiliar place.

A longing for a place she once called home,

Is all that she clings to her chest.

The eerie silence that surrounds her,

The only company she has come to know,

The darkness that encompasses her heart,

Is more than what she desires to bear.

Tears cascading down her face,

The face that once was full of joy,

The face that once shone in the sun,

The face that once never knew of sorrow.

Will she ever see the light of the sun?

Will she be saved?

Will she find her way home?

Is there a way out of this deserted waste land,

Where not even a heart beat can be heard,

Or the shuffling of a creature in the bushes.

Is there a light at the end of this tunnel,

For a soul that’s lost its purpose

The New Year

It is been too long since I last wrote a post and I have been missing the blogging scene. Not that I didn’t have anything to say, just that I didn’t have the drive to sit down and type out my thoughts, which shouldn’t be too hard to do since I can touch type at nearly 60wpm. The thing about not blogging for so long is that so much happens during that time and you simply want to explode and tell everything at the same time, yet again you try to prioritize what you want to say and you end up being a confused mess.

So this is my first post in 2011 so I guess Happy New Year is in order though I am two months late but better late than never. I am looking forward to this year for certain reasons. One of them being Lady GaGa’s sophomore album which I hope will be better than her first “The Fame” and her EP “The Fame Monster”. Even though I didn’t particularly like the first single “Born This Way” I hope the rest of the album could be better than this first single. The other thing that I am looking forward to is the Playstation NGP. I am a big video gaming fan and this just looks awesome. The first hand held to spot two analog sticks (no the nub of the previous PSP) and further more it has a touch screen and of late I have been having this thing for touch screens, so yeah I really want to know more. It hasn’t been officially been released but it should be by the end of this year and I want to see the pricing among other things to see if I’ll possibly be getting one.

So 2011 is going to be a good year for me and I hope to make the most of it and blog more often, that was my new year’s resolution ( and we all know what happens to resolutions)  Peace.

My Theory On Time Travelling Part I

So I was just watching Samurai Jack and his whole quest of finding a portal to go into the past and it got me thinking. If Aku could create a time portal and fling Jack into the future, why can't he just create a time portal and go back into the past or send one of his many robots or hired mercenaries to kill Jack when he was a child, because that is exactly what Samurai Jack is intending to do to him.

At this point I started thinking, haven't you watched one of these movies whereby someone goes into the past to kill someone or on some other kind of mission and somehow affects the present in someway. Let's take this example Mr X is an evil villain who wants to kill Mr JD. Mr X gets a time machine and goes back into the past and kills a young Mr JD, and then Mr JD dies in front of the screen. My question is, why did he have to die at that particular time when we are shown Mr X killing young Mr JD?

This is my theory about time traveling. If you go back into the past and change something, it will not change the future, what happens is that,an entirely new dimension will be created. The moment something is changed a new time dimension is created with the present that you are trying to change remaining intact and the new time dimension with the current change implemented. The reason why I think like this is that whatever you experienced and you want to change will most definitely have existed there is no denying that because you will be having those experiences so in my view, changing the past doesn't make the present better, it creates a better and alternate present.

I don't want to make an incredibly long post so I guess I am going to split this into a series of posts to describe my theory. Please leave some comments so that I know what you think of time travelling.

Project Fame

So there is this particular tv show that is airing on one of our tv shows that everybody loves that is called TPF. I can't say that I am a
fan of the show because I am not but I do like tuning in once in a while and checking it out and seeing if it's gotten any interesting.

For some reason, this show is quite famous, but I have a problem with this show, some of the contestants in the show just can't sing. I don't know if it is just me who is being too critical but in all honesty the reason why I avoid this show is because everytime I tune in I am disappointed and I just can't stand listening to a horrible performance. Sometimes it makes me wonder, "were the judges crazy when they were selecting these final contestants?" or should we blame it on nerves, which is the common excuse that is more often than not used.

I am not saying that there are no good singers in the show, I am just saying that there are some people who should not have been allowed to stand before an audience and cause us pain. Or maybe I expect too much from their performance.

Breaking the Ice

It really has been a long time since I blogged and it sure is good to be able to write again. I had taken a long and unprecedented hiatus to focus on school work among other stuff. So much has happened during my hiatus so good, some awesome and others… well, they are just some things in life that you just don’t really know how to describe :). Part of the reason why I went on hiatus was cause my phone got stolen at some point and I had to stay one month without internet. Those were some bad times. Then to add salt to my wound my laptop decided to die on me and my warranty receipt went missing. Well they say let by gones be by gones, and now I have sorted myself out and I am ready to get back into the world of blogging at full force. This is just me breaking the ice and telling y’all that my blog ain’t dead, not yet and I am now back for some serious blogging

A CAT Gone Wrong

So today we had a History CAT for which I had a lot of confidence in. The reason because I was confident is because I spent the whole weekend reading it and I promised myself that I was going to get an A. I even decided to host a group discussion on what "was" to come in the CAT showing my classmates my superior knowledge on the topics. So I went to sleep early confident that I had aced the test.

So when the teacher finally brought the CAT, what I got was a heart attack. There was nothing on what I had read, what I had spent my sweet weekend reading. To make matters worse the topic which I was so confident wouldn't come, and had told some guys that it definitely won't come, came. Let me try to recreate that moment. The moment we saw the questions, you could just feel the whole class was like "WTF". Everyone was in total shock. What the teacher brought is this, he brought a topic which he had already tested in the first CAT and a topic which we had not discussed in class, and the topic which we had thoroughly discussed in class, the topic which I had struggled to research in class the topic which I could ace very easily was missing. Seriously, is this really fair. This guy is just so malicious. Just tell me was this CAT really fair, isn't a CAT supposed to be what you have been taught not what you should be taught, that is what exams are about. Tell me, was this really fair???

Fun Theory

It has been a while since I last blogged and I have been terribly busy with CATS, assignments and projects. Having a lot of late nights and early mornings, critics among so many other things. At least now I have a moment to breathe for a little while before the next cycle of work begins.

The other day I was watching a video from one of my podcasts that had this theory called the fun theory. There was an exit from a subway station whereby there was a fleet of stairs and an escalator. Obviously must people choose the escalator without giving the fleet of stairs another thought. So the purpose of this experiment was to see if they could make people choose the stairs over the escalator. They installed some sound devices on the stairs so the stairs could be like a keyboard. After this installation you see two people walking towards the exit with one choosing the stairs and the other the escalator, the moment the person stepped on the stairs the other guy was drawn towards it and forgot all about the escalator. Over time more people discovering that the stairs was also a piano had a new preference towards it. In the end 66% of people had a preference for the stairs than the escalator. This strikes me as a new type of innovation that could actually work if applied on other parts.

Workload

it has been too long since I last blogged and it really is a shame, but I have been so and terribly busy with school stuff and all. I have had like an insane amount of workload from studio projects to group work to assignments and lets not forget the pesky CATS but at last I got some free time eventually.

Kwanza there was this group work that our History teacher gave us and let me tell you that thing was hectic. For starters, none of the references that that lecturer guy gave us was in the library and those that had the research topic had like at most two pages and you had to go looking at the index pages to find anything relevant. This was not good because the dude wants a 50 paged document. All I can say was last week was a stressful week. We had no option but to use the net but still we had to do lots and lots of googling. Since the teacher saud he wanted a big document I decided to be sneaky and use a slightly bigger font typing it However, in group work you can never do anything on your own and there will always be those who work had and those who are lazy and sure enough we had the lazy bums who never bothered to do their part on time and that resulted in us presenting a half baked document. We were supposed to present a power point presentation but the lecturer guy didn't come, and it is good that he didn't come because what we had done was something that was entremely scretchy, so now we do have some extra time and I do hope that I will be able to finish the work and revise it because definitely the dude will come next week asking for some more work.

That's it from me for today till my next free time. Cheers.

Lecture 1

So today we were supposed to have our first lecture of the semester since the lecturer told us that he would be here. We were so sure that the lecture was on today and almost the whole class was in on time, which is not a usual thing, ready to learn. However, the guy decided to bounce, this is after he told zushad for us that we had missed his Monday lesson, what a shame. Any way, it isn't such a total loss for me, I had come with my laptop in hand so that I could do some browsing before he came into class so I was just having a blast.

I must say that the net in class is really fast and that is the only reason that this semester I might be spending all my time in class, rather than out of class. Don't get me wrong, I just want to do some serious "research" this year :). However, it is a shame that they decided to block youtube with sonic wall, which something that they didn't do last year, that is such a shame. Kwani they don't know that it can also be a learning tool. But just being me, I am sure that I will find a way to by pass it even though I don't know that much about computers.

Is it just me or when you are faced with free unli, ited internet you simply go crazy, I mean, I have no idea about what I want to browse or what I want to download it really confuses me to the point that I just can't get any work done at all, but I guess that is just something that I'll have to deal with. That's all from me for now, until my next post, read well.

The New Semester

So my wonderful 4 month long holiday has just come to a staggering end and the new school year has begun. I really am going to miss the endless hours of sitting around and doing nothing at all.

So yesterday was registration for the new academic year and I hoped that it would not take long. It really was a straight forward thing, you just had to pick a form which was to verify that you are a student in the university (as if a stranger would come out of nowhere and give cash to the university), you pay your fees and finally sign the nominal roll. Sounds easy right, well it is easy, only that there were queues, long ones. And to make matters worse it was raining, at this point I was just about ready to go home. I would have had it not been for the fact that I was smart enough to carry an umbrella. But I have to say that in my case, the process didn’t take long because the lines for verification and signing the nominal roll for my department were very short. So immediately after finishing I rushed on home to just bum.

At least I have the rest of the week off, because I’m sure as from next week, projects will be waiting for me. That’s when things will really get hectic and I’ll start suffering from sleepless nights. But it was fun to catch up with some of my class mates and I have to say that I had even forgotten some of their names. And also there were the first years; I saw some familiar faces from high school here and there from my graduating year. So let me enjoy my last few moments of freedom before things really begin becoming really frantic.

Filler

Hi everyone, I have been out of blogging practise for quite a while now. I was just too lazy to write a new post and also the net where I was was terrible and I couldn’t edit my posts so I postponed posting them till later, and this is later. I have a number of things that I want to write about so they’ll be out in the next few weeks.

I was on holiday for the last 4 months and I had lots of fun (part of the reason why I didn’t blog) and now school is starting next week and things are going to get pretty hectic but I will write every once in a while. So this isn’t a real post, it is just a filler to let you know that my halo has not been put out and I have some things planned for the next posts. This is that kind of boredom where you expected watch something interesting but the TV has just decided to be a bitch. I mean why has Kenyan TV stations just decided to be so terribly boring with their shows. I mean, there were days when I couldn't stop watching TV, now I can't stand watching TV.

First of all, what is it with all these foreign soap operas on all our TV, like seriously I am so disgusted with the number. I wouldn't mind the once a week soap but every single fucking day, come on, that is not fair. I'd rather watch a Kenyan show than all those foreign imports. And what is this shit on Citizen called afro cinema. I mean, all those movies are so terribly boring and repetitive they are all just the same, some stupid love scandal and worse off they keep using the same characters in almost similar situations. These people paint a bad picture of love. You should see the terrible frown on my face on my face as I type this. There was a time when NTV was really a hot station with really awesome series but now it is just littered with soaps. And what is it with the cartoons these days. These days the cartoons on KTN are all just full of shit. I mean, Johnny Test is such a good show but when you keep airing re runs what do you expect.
What happened to Kim Possible and all those cool cartoons. There is this show that I particularly hate, this Legend of the Hidden City. That show is so whack and the only kids who watch it are full of crap. And what happened to KBC. Men that station had some of the greatest cartoons on Sunday. I mean, you had to wake up early to watch the cartoons. There was Samurai Pizza Cats, Dragon Flies, Mega Man, Saber Ride, and so many many more. But these day I wonder how kids even cope. And don't even get me started on NTV's cartoon network, I mean they repeat the same same shows every week after week. I am really disappointed with the quality of TV programs on Kenyan TV. It's either they are getting poorer or something else. If I wanted to watch re runs I'd just watch the animations that I
have here in my house. I really wonder what kids of today watch on TV. I am so and terribly disappointed with the shit on TV, and if I become a rich guy in future I'll create my own TV station and show all these fools what TV is all about. This post has been written out of anger and frustration because the shows on Kenyan tvs are below average. You really should see how angry and frustrated I am.

Anticipation for Chaos

It has been a long wait but finally, God of War 3 has been released. Even though it may take me some time to get the game, the realisation that the game is in the market is a relief. I must say that it is really strange that I have been highly anticipating this game given the fact that I have not played any of the God of War games, well except for the mobile game God of War: Betrayal. But I must say the hype that this game has been given is a tremendous one that I guess there is no way an avid video gamer like me could not have heard of it.

Even though it's a shame that I haven't played any of the games I have watched some of the gameplay online and it does have quite some similarity to Heavenly Sword, being that they are both Hack and Slash games. This fact was just enough to get me interested. Before I usually get a game I usually wait for it to be in the market for some few months and read reviews from people who have played the games however this time, I'm banking on the success of the previous games as a guarantee that this final installment of this video game trilogy is going to be spectacular.
So now as I wait for my copy of this epic game, I guess I should start catching myself up with the first two installments of the trilogy so that as I make my final match up towards Mount Olympus, I shall know only one thing, In the end, there will be only chaos...

My Quest to find the Heavenly Sword: The Trojan Horse

... I couldn't believe it. The game just refused to start. You do not know how pissed I was. By the way this is a continuation from my previous blog so if you are confused take a glance at it. So where was I, oh yes, the game refused to start. Apparently the game was from a different region from where my game console came from. I just don't understand all this nonsense about region codes why they even exist. So I was stranded. But I'm not one to give up easily. I started doing some research because there is nothing that is full proof. There is always a flaw in the design of something. A tiny loop hole, or sometimes there can be a big one. I like to call myself the master of google and googling is what I did. I searched for an answer all over the internet, read countless forums but still nothing. This one was proving to be a challenge but I wasn't going to give up that easily, there had to be something. The first option that I got was a rather expensive one and that could not suffice. So I had to keep digging deeper and learning more. Then finally after a very long and intensive search I found what I was looking for, a flaw in the design. The trojan house that I needed to win this battle, the Delaila (is this even the spelling) to my samson problem. Apparently all I had to do was get another blu ray disk and put it in the game console and at the opportune time swap them gracefully and voila, problem solved. At first I was like this is just too good to be true but I had no other choice, and to cut a longer story short (hasn't this been one long tale) the trick worked like magic. I swear, it was like ecstasy (not that I've ever taken any) when I saw the game loading I couldn't believe it. You know that feeling when you've been disappointed before and you're waiting for it happen again only this time what you want to happen happens, that's where I was. I was jumping up and down (literally) and I almost broke a leg (now this is a figure of speech). The funny thing is that this happened two days before I went back to boarding school and I hadn't finished my holiday assignment (can you imagine, given assignments on a holiday, those teachers were so malevolent) and I never finished it. Those last two days were filled with fun. As for the holiday assignment, that is probably a blog for another day. Cheers.

My Quest to find the Heavenly Sword.

If you read my previous blog (and if you haven't please do) you probably are familiar with Heavenly Sword. However, this tale is not about the game, it's about the process that it took me to get the game. I first came across Heavenly Sword when I was browsing the playstation network. I wasn't looking for any new game but then I saw that Heavenly Sword was topping the sales charts and I wondered, what's so great about this the game. That was the first of many viewings of the trailer and I immediately was intrigued, I wanted to find out more about the game. I did all the background checks on the game and everybody was giving it hot reviews. I immediately wanted the game but there was one big problem, I didn't know where to get it. You see in the side of the country where I live (a place called Maseno) the stores around did not have a single ps3 game and my only hope was Nairobi (the capital city of kenya) but I didn't have any means of getting there. My only hope at the time was to send my parents if at all they had a conference out of the country but there was none in the near future. You can imagine my frustration. I had no way of getting it. But there was another option, I could ask my bro to buy it for me since he's studying in the states and he was coming for holiday in about a month. Unfortunately that didn't work out due to some miscommunication. You can imagine my frustration. Then heaven began working some plans out for me, my mum manage to get a job in nairobi and moved there. That was step one but at the moment I didn't see it like that. Step two was that my very good friend (and follower) @cdohnio (by the way check out his blog http://cdohnio.blogspot.com) whom I had shown the trailer to, told me that a store near his store was selling the game. I was over happy that at least the game was available. So I decided to go visit my mum a few weeks later and then went to the store that @cdohnio had told me about (btw @cdohnio is his twitter address hope you don't using it this way I'm so used to twitter) and guess what the game was sold out. I was like wtf, sold out, you must be joking. I was so pissed. But @cdohnio told me there was another store that was selling the game so we went there. This store had the game, but, get this it was double the price. Oh, and another thing, when we asked for the game it was still in storage, so as this guy was going to get it we were like just give us a minute we'll go get the cash. And I'm sure that guy still waiting till today, that was one very good trick that me and @cdohnio played on that dude (Damn you yaya toy store). Here I was, so totally depressed not knowing if I'll ever get that game that I want, losing all hope. However, there was one last hope that I had. My mum told me that there was a store in town, a sony store that might have the game. This time I didn't raise my hopes high and was ready to be disappointed yet again. So we like walked into the store and I started looking around. And finally there it was, gazing at me from the other side of the protective glass shelf it was placed in among other games. If my life was a movie, this would have been the climax with at last music playing. I almost started jumping up and down in the store but I maintained my composure. At last my quest was over. I hugged it all the way home waiting to start playing, all through the night finally, FINALLY. I remember vividly getting hope, unwrapping the game and pushing it into the console with pad in hand, waiting, waiting, waiting for the game to start... and then... the damn thing says, sorry, you cannot play this game... to be continued

My Heavenly Sword

I'm one of the very many people who play video games and I know a good game when I see when, or rather when I play one. The game in question is Heavenly Sword. I'm not one who can easily be persuaded by an advert to buy something but this time I made an exception. From the first time that I saw the Heavenly Sword trailer I knew that I just had to have that game. And true to myself, I got it eventually after a very long time (that is a blog for anotherday).

The game is basically a sword fighting game set in the year of the fire horse. It revolves around a heroine called Nariko who is hot and skilled in fighting (she is one of the hottest video game chics you'll ever meet.). She has to protect the sword from an evil king who wants it for himself. You may be asking why would anyone want a sword which can be made, this sword is believed to have belonged to a god. The twist to this story is that if a mortal were to wield the sword it would give them immense power but in the process, it'll slowly kill them. I don't want to spoil the story for you especially if you might want to play it.

This is one of the best games that I have ever played. One of the reasons why I like this game is the stunningly clear graphics. This is expected since it is running on a seventh generation game console but it still is amazing. The gameplay is comparable to that of God of War but with it's own twist. You get to pull of some really awesome combos and the quick sequence moves will leave you yearning for more. The sound track is extremely authentic and it really intensifys your gameplay. You may find yourself simply forgetting that you are playing a game and slowly cross into that virtual world.

The only downside to this game is that it is short and it'll leave you yearning for more but you soon get over yourself. This is an awesome game and it deserves a sequel even though that is yet to be confirmed despite the success of the game. Even though the game is a few years old I don't think that I'll shall leaving at the back of my shelf. If you are looking for a new game and you haven't played Heavenly Sword, don't look further, this game will blow your mind.

My Insomnia

Insomnia is often described as the lack of sleep or ability to maintain sleep. I would like to state for the record that I have none of the above I just thought that the title sounded kind of funky. But now that that is through I have to say staying awake the whole night has its own thrills, especially when you don't have to be up early the next day. One of the things that has amazed me the most is that the night is not as long as we think it is. You know the way everybody always thinks that they can put reading for a test till night and then burn the midnight oil. The only reason why people think this carries a lot of water is because they think that since everybody else is asleep and I'm a wake I'm gaining more milage. The beauty of the night is all the peace and quiet, especially if you're the kind of guy who likes reading in that kind of environment. But many a time have I been spooked especially after watching some scary movie. The darkness plays tricks on your mind and you see some figures move. I swear one day that red standby light of the tv once gave me a fright. Another consequence of my insomnia is that I've began having new tastes on my tv viewing. Like seriously, these days I enjoy watching tcm movies and cnn. But I have to say that they are quite interesting. I was quite suprised when I found out the Matrix is now a tcm movie. And I just cannot miss Backstory. However there are some disadvantages. I tend to sleep for way to long. I guess I'm not really used to sleeping during the day as compared to staying awake all night. But that is a worthy price to pay. It is also quite a nostalgic affair seeing the sunrise because it means the start of a wonderful day and also the end of mine.

Beginnings

The beginning of every tale requires an introduction and this shall be no exception. The thought of starting a blog is one that excites me but mixed amidst all this is the fear of whether I'll be able to maintain it, satisfy the desires of an intellectual mind, and of course whether I'll get any followers. But what is life without risks.

So as you take a plunge into my thoughts I hope that you shall have a taste of what it is like to be within my halo and so much more.
